Breaking Barriers to Support Diversity in the Sport of Rowing.

Who we are

At the Evanston High School Rowing Club our core mission is to enhance diversity, equity, and access in the sport. We live our values on land and water, embracing the diversity of our crew and dedicating ourselves to creating opportunities for all student athletes to live to their fullest potential.

Through the collaborative efforts of the ETHS Athletic Department and local community organizations, we work towards creating an inclusive and accessible space where student-athletes of all backgrounds feel welcomed and able to succeed in our sport.

Why Join ETHS Rowing

ETHS Rowing is one of the only public school rowing clubs in the Chicagoland area. We are a new team to the Chicago area rowing community and therefore have the incredible opportunity to build a new, inclusive rowing culture for present and future Wildkits.

By joining, you become part of a close-knit community dedicated to reshaping the landscape of the sport and the larger Evanston community. Our aim is to encourage every individual to participate and thrive, foster personal growth, and cultivate lifelong skills in a safe, fun, and competitive setting. Together, we can inspire the next generation of rowers in Evanston.

How to Support Us

ETHS Rowing is dedicated to making rowing accessible and inclusive to all. Our dedication to breaking barriers of exclusivity means that we do not gatekeep access to the sport of rowing because of an inability to pay. That means that we do not charge excessive fees to participate. Our community stays open to all because of the generosity of folks like you. Help us to keep our community financially strong by donating today.

Fall TryOuts

Fall tryouts will be held in August (exact dates will be posted by mid summer). Tryouts for all teams are one week long, and full attendance is required for consideration of a roster spot.

As a requirement of participation, all Rowing Club student-athletes are evaluated on their swimming abilities in the Water Safety Test during tryout period to ensure they can safely participate. Learn more about tryout criteria here.
