Summer Rowing Camps

Each summer, many athletes from the ETHS Rowing Team continue their development by attending rowing camps locally and across the country. These camps provide a unique opportunity to train with new coaches, meet athletes from other programs, and experience different styles of rowing. For ETHS rowers, it’s a way to stay sharp between seasons while continuing to build strength, refine technique, and gain confidence heading into the fall and spring.

Camps are typically open to all athletes who register and pay a fee, making them accessible to both experienced rowers and those just getting started. Camps are open to all athletes and range from local day programs to immersive overnight experiences at schools like Wisconsin–Madison, Stanford, Yale and more. Along with skill development and confidence building, these environments can provide valuable insight into the pathway to collegiate rowing. Beyond the training, these environments expose athletes to higher levels of competition and, in some cases, opportunities to be seen by college coaches, helping them better understand the pathway to rowing at the next level.

In addition, the ETHS Rowing Team offers its own ETHS Summer Rowing Camp, which provides a local, accessible option for both returning and new athletes. The program includes a week-long training camp for experienced rowers, as well as “Learn-to-Row” sessions for incoming freshmen and sophomores, focused on fundamentals and getting on the water. Camps are affordably priced, with financial assistance and discounts available to ensure access for all families, and even offer optional racing opportunities like Chicago Sprints.

Together, these summer experiences help athletes return to the season stronger, more confident, and more connected to the sport—reinforcing the growth, opportunity, and long-term pathway that defines ETHS rowing.
