The Team Behind the Team
If you’ve ever been at a regatta at 6:00am, you’ve seen them. They’re the ones unloading coolers before the sun comes up.Setting up tents in the wind.Handing out coffee, sunscreen, and last-minute snacks.Cheering just as loud as the athletes. And somehow still organizing rides, meals, volunteers, and everything in between.
They are the quiet engine behind ETHS Rowing. The Parent Board isn’t just a group of volunteers. It’s a community. A support system. A group of people who show up for each other, for the athletes, and for the coaches, again and again. They make sure the buses run.The food is there. The communication is clear. The season keeps moving forward.
So the coaches can coach. And the rowers can row.
How It All Comes Together

As the team has grown to over 100 athletes, the parent group has grown with it, evolving into three simple areas:
Finance – Keeping the program funded and sustainable
Logistics – Making regattas and events actually happen
Communications – Keeping everyone informed, connected, and included
But in reality, it’s less about structure and more about people stepping in where they can, when they can. No one does everything.Everyone does something.
2026/2027 Opportunities
Now it’s time to build next year’s team, this is a chance to:
Be part of something bigger than your own athlete
Build real friendships with other parents
Help shape the experience for an entire team
Make a direct, visible impact on every gatta and every season
Whether you have a few hours a week or just want to take on a specific role, there’s a place for you.
What Parents Actually Do

Some lead. Some organize. Some communicate. Some just show up and help where needed. You might:
Run a regatta and coordinate volunteers, food, and setup
Welcome new families and help them find their footing
Send out updates so everyone knows where to be and when
Organize a pasta dinner or end-of-season banquet
Help raise the funds that keep this program accessible to all
Or simply be the person who says, “I’ve got this.”
Why It Matters
ETHS Rowing is a dues-free program. That’s something special. It opens the door for every athlete, regardless of means. But it only works because of this group. Because of parents who step in. Who share the load. Who care about every rower, not just their own. This isn’t just volunteering. It’s building a team off the water that makes everything on the water possible.
Getting Involved

If you’ve been thinking about it, this is your moment. Throw your name in by emailing parents@ethsrowing.com. Ask questions. Jump in. Be a part of this amazing program and team!
You don’t need to know everything. You just need to be willing to be part of it.
