Mitten 2!

The Grand Rapids Invitational regatta has been cancelled due to extreme flooding. Luckily, we were able to pivot to the Mitten 2 series on the same weekend, preserving a major race opportunity on such short notice leading into MSRA. It’ll require some flexibility, but all in the name of preparation for the regional championships. Thank you to everyone who volunteered last weekend and thank you in advance to those who make it work for Mitten 2!

April 24-25 Mitten 2 @ Kathryn Bennett Race Course in Milford, MI

• ***$10/day or $45/annual (unlimited entry). 100% of the vehicle pass $ go directly to the Metropark system.

• Who: ALL athletes

• When: Travel 4/24, race and return to ETHS 4/25

  • Depart: 12:00pm Friday, meet at 11:30 at the erg room (after Block 4)

  • Pickup: ~10:30-11:30pm Saturday, April 25 at ETHS Entrance 2 

• Transportation: Buses leaving ETHS Entrance 3 at 12:00pm

• **COXSWAINS: C&C meeting, 6:30am at the launch docks on race day. 

• Detrailer: Monday/Tuesday during regular practice times

• TEAM HOTEL: Same as GRI - AmericInn by Wyndham @ 5500 28th St SE, Grand Rapids, Michigan 49512

  • 2 chaperone rooms available -> please email me if you are available and interested. The team pays for this room on your behalf.

• Recommended parent hotel: No block, but Holiday Inn Brighton South, 6910 Whitmore Lake Road Brighton, MI 48116 United States. We will need as many on location for Friday site setup and Sat morning as possible

• [4/24, Friday]

  • 11:30pm: Meet at erg room, full team meeting before leaving

  • 12:00pm: Buses depart @ ETHS Entrance 3 

  • ~6:30pm: Buses arrive to hotel

  • ~8:30pm: Hotel curfew - athletes in assigned rooms

• [4/25, Saturday]

  • ~early AM: depart from hotel

  • 6:30am: Coaches & Coxswains Meeting 

  • ~7:30am–12:00pm: AM Racing Events

  • ~1:00pm: Finals begin

  • ~5:00–6:30pm: Finals complete, depart course soon after trailering

  • ~10:30-11:30pm: Arrive at ETHS
