After a weather-shifted return to Milford, ETHS Rowing showed exactly what this program is; not just fast at the top, but deep, resilient, and competitive across every level.
From the first races of the morning through the final events of the day, Evanston crews were in the mix. Multiple boats advanced through heats and semifinals and by the afternoon, ETHS had built a full slate of finals appearances across varsity, JV, novice, and small boats.
The results tell a powerful story. Eight podium finishes across both the men’s and women’s sides highlighted the day, including standout performances from the Women’s Varsity 8+, Women’s Novice 8+, Men’s Novice 8+, and Men’s 3V/Novice 8+, all finishing second in highly competitive fields. The Men’s Varsity 8+ and Women’s 2V also earned podium spots, while additional crews placed solidly in A Finals, continuing to close the gap with top programs.
Beyond the medals, what stood out most was the depth. Multiple entries in key events, strong advancement through early rounds, and competitive finishes across a wide range of boat classes showed a program that is growing in both size and strength. This wasn’t just a handful of fast boats; it was a full team effort.
That depth reflects the early mornings, long practices, and commitment from every athlete in the program. It builds internal competition, strengthens lineups, and creates the kind of environment where improvement happens quickly.
Mitten #2 was another step forward. The margins are tightening, the confidence is building, and this group continues to show that they can compete with anyone in the region.
